When bodybuilders are look their biggest (contest time) that is when they are the smallest!
The proportions are more extreme though.

When bodybuilders are actually bigger, they look more like powerlifters.

since i do both i can tell you that the biggest difference is diet and cardio.

Bodybuilding i was focusing more on carb depleting and loading, doing more reps to get a good pump. You lose some strength when you diet down 20+lbs easy..

Powerlifting-I usually do pyramids 5-10reps, then doubles on heavy days.
Diet is just making sure im eating, not really concerned about my weight.

I weighed 201 back in june for my bb show, i've shot back up to 230 or so now..

the hardest decision for me right now is diet as its a powerlifting show in Feb and a bb show in april.
So if i start dieting now i'll lose strength for the powerlifting, but will look good for the bb show..Its really picking your poison..
