Default Help needed. When life gets in the way.

Here's my problem, due to a new job And the shifts il have to do, I can no longer get to my usual gym regularly, il only be able to get there once a week.

There is a gym 5 minutes from my front door, unfortunately this gym is my idea of what hell might look like, dumbbells upto 45kg, barbells upto 45kg and 2 smith machines, general resistance machines and of course countless rows of cardio rubbish.

So what's the best thing I could do?

I don't want to lose the progress I've made with all my main lifts but is my only option is to do them all on the same day once a week? With accessory work done in hell

Any advice/Help greatly appreciated.

Will your schedule always be like that or will it change again? If it is going to stay like that, I'd consider a home gym. I think in the long run you'd be more satisfied. I am sure the others will have good ideas what to do in the meantime.

It's going to stay like that for the foreseeable future, so I need to change my routine completely.

Iv been thinking about an home gym before this happened so it's definitely something I'm going to get sorted eventually.

Hum? I am sure the other guys will help you figure out something in the meantime. But I think it is a sign to have a home gym.

Consider doing heavy squats, light DL and bench one week.
Light squat, heavy DL, and bench the next week.

Best Meet Lifts:
Squat = 325
Bench = 210
Dead = 353
Total = 888

Home gym imo. I got mine off powerhouse fitness, you could try strength shop or savage strength also. You need a bit of space ( a garage probably) but it was one of the best investments i have ever made in my short time on this earth.

I was looking on powerhouse fitness today, I was planning on getting a home gym sorted so it looks like it's going to be sooner rather than later, it's going to have be after Xmas though.

What is good about a home gym is you can develop it when you see fit. For example, I am considering purchasing bumper plates and dumbbells , as well as an attachment bench. Also, if you get a home gym I would consider trying a high frequency program ( some sort of full body like HST or Smolov for squats) as they really work very effectively with the added bonus of using the gym as much as possible. Also, sessions at home are much more productive. As a high volume kind of guy, I'm sure you will see great benefits if you trained in such a manner. Just my two cents.

You're issue is my issue Monk.

I work shift work pulling 12hr shifts. It is difficult as my energy and sleep pattern is constantly being switched around. I work at home anyway, but it still is difficult at times to fit in yet another thing to get done during an already long day.

Currently I keep it as simple as possible, performing just a few big compounds and working as much as I can. I'll get back again with a few different ways I've worked programs for this scenario.
