If he transforms like that then he really needs to take care of his PCT. It's normal for the muscles to lose that constant pumped up look, but no way should he turn into a pudgy cry baby. If he's taking androgens then he should actually dry out some when he gets off cycle. Obviously he's not taking an AI so he's getting an estrogen kick back that's causing him to bloat up and become emotionally unstable.

For the record, that kind of reaction is NOT simply from going off cycle. You have to do a lot of things wrong to get a reaction like that.

Trust me he's doing it wrong. I wasn't implying using roids was up and down mental roller coaster. My buddy is an idiot and that extends to his drug use.

People can be really dumb when it comes to AAS use. Then again, I once had a guy offer me half a tab of something at a bar. He didn't even tell me what it was. Honestly, I can't imagine being so fucked up that I would just take random prescription drugs from strangers. And combine them with alcohol. I guess some people are really dumb about all drug use.

I'm definitely not anti-drug, but there's gotta be a line somewhere, right?

Wow some of those don't even look like the same person!

I have a friend at work that goes through this over and over. He has two different sets of coveralls for when he's on/off. I'd honestly say a difference of 20-25lbs easily, retaining maybe 5lbs at best, often less.
And having known him for three years now, and training with him a handful of times, I can tell you that his diet/training/PCT are all dialed in pretty well.

Depending on what you're taking and how you're eating it's actually really easy for your weight and thickness to shoot up and down. That's why so many guys just don't cycle, or go with a burst and cruise protocol.

Part of the real issue is that most compounds make you so damn hungry. It's too easy to give in to the hunger, knowing that most of it will go to muscle anyways, and eat everything in sight. But it's healthier and will arguably be more successful over time to gain slowly even while on. Slower gains are more lasting, even if they aren't as fun.

This pretty much describes my friend perfectly, especially regarding the food intake. He's admitted having a naturally poor appetite, and believes it to be a large part of why he doesn't retain much when off.
Also I agree with what you said regarding slower gains being more lasting, I find it difficult myself sometimes to exercise the necessary patience.
