Default Abdominal Exercises Are For Girls!!

What would you consider to be the most challenging abdominal exercises?

My favorite circuit is a plank, followed by leg raises, finished off with crunches (on the girly swiss ball, of course).

How about you, what do you like??

Um, well, in my experience so far (not much - you have been warned ), I'd say front squats and cable crunches are very effective. Very different too, in the way that they work the abs (isometric vs. whatever the other is called). So, the front squat is a bit like a plank, I guess.

As you can see, I don't know all that much about abs. Or anatomy, etc., overall.

Also, I don't tend to go for "challenging" as a goal in itself, but more so effective, as a means to an end.

I get a lot of abdominal exercise by sucking in my gut when pretty women are around. But seriously, abdominal work is always an after-thought and usually just skipped. But I;ve done enough to know what's hard and that is hanging leg raises and decline sit-uos. In contrast I find planks to be really easy after years of squatting.

i fined ab exercises pretty boring but when i have done them i find weighted sit ups and leg raises good and hanging leg raises and bb rollouts a challenge.

Im with OR, I was 100 lbs overweight for 20+ years...my abs, although they could not be seen, were super strong from sucking in my gut for 20+ years in an attempt to only look 80 pounds overweight!!

Best Meet Lifts:
Squat = 325
Bench = 209
Dead = 368
Total = 902

haha... Sounds like the Gut Suck-Ins are a great exercise, and I might be sacrificing some strong gains if I don't include them

Although, at 38 years old I'm happy to tell you there isn't much gut to suck in, and I feel all the better for it.

Also glad to share (with minimal food surplus) gains are coming on quite nicely.

Quicker than many with high belly fat too

i agree with OR here - i too find the planks easy enough...
throw in some ab wheel stuff too and cable crunch from knees.
