The Steve Reeves Ideal Body Measurement

The physique of 1940s-1950s bodybuilding legend Steve Reeves will go down in history as being one of the most perfectly proportioned of all time. Many feel his body represents what a bodybuilding physique should look like - flawless and beautiful. His measurements (18.5 inch arms, calves and neck) were regarded as a benchmark for symmetry and proportion, and his philosophy was to keep the body balanced through the adherence to a couple of methods.

Height To Weight Chart For Building A Classic Physique:

Reeves believed ones height represented the limit to which they could pack on mass. His main philosophy proposed keeping muscular bodyweight within acceptable limits to prevent the distortion of ones natural symmetry.

Height Weight
5'5" 160lbs
5'6" 165lbs
5'7" 170lbs
5'8" 175lbs
5'9" 180lbs
5'10" 185lbs
5'11" 190lbs
6'0" 200lbs
6'1" 210lbs
6'2" 220lbs
6'3" 230lbs
6'4" 240lbs
6'5" 250lbs

Using reeve's formula, my 7 inch wrists should have an 18 inch arm.

That's some bigguns. I have 19.75 inche arms right now, but if I cut to Reeves bodyfat, I'd be lucky to be at 17.5. So I'm slacking.

16 inches for 6.4 inches wrist (am yet to meet somebody my height who has thinner wrists that me, damnit). That's a possible gain of almost 1 inch, actually a bit more considering that at 13-14% BF, I am likely to lose some size if I get down to 9-10%.

I'm guessing at my wrist size btw. I might give you a run for your money. I'm only 5'10" though.

Bud, this was AFTER 1 year of lifting. I kid you not. I weighed 145 in high school, and was a cross country fool.
