Default Most Important thing to know

I am just starting lifting. As the name states I have no experience with this. What would everyone on here list as the most important thing to know when one is first starting. I will take any advice that I can get. I am so ready for this!

Be consistent. Focus on reasonable progression. Pick a solid routine and do it as it is written for the first 8-12 months or until progression stops.

expect results + hard work toward results = results

Too many approach this with no expectations, just a wish and a prayer. Expect things to happen and then focus on the work necessary. Don't get caught up in everything else, don't over think, just do the work. Finally watch it work. Simple summary? work the plan and let the plan work.

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.
