It has been said so many times it almost does not need repeating ( but I am gonna do it anyway ) Abs are built in the kitchen not in the gym..... If you want to see your abs clean up your diet..... but first, make sure you have built up some muscles, to reveal.

I had abs- they called me skinny. Now, I am building muscle so they can call me, Sir.

What BF% do most guys need to be at to have a defined 6 pack ?

ricka182 12-07-2012 09:53 AM

Hard to pick one BF% for "most" guys.. But I'd think at a minimum, your goal should be to hit a single digit for BF%. And as mentioned, eating is the way to loss the gut, or proper eating I should say. But also, muscular development. Do some weighted crunches or weighted hanging leg raises, work them in twice a week.

Really? I am just starting so I have no idea but could you tell me how squats will help with a 6 pack? Hope this is not an ignorant question.

Squats make your whole body stronger (including abs) and make the involved muscle groups grow larger (including abs). Why would you just focus on abs when you can improve your entire physique? Squats can do that for you.
