Default What is eccentric training?

What exactly is eccentric training? Is it beneficial? Do many of the big lifters use it?

when you lift theres two kinds of movements.
Concentric and Eccentric.
Concentric is when you make the muscle work in its normal way, contracting. Eccentric is also known as a negative movement. It forces the muscle to work in an opposing way. Using tension to elongate instead of contract.

Many people use Eccentric training. Its just focusing on the negative movements of a lift and putting less or no emphasis on the concentric or positive movement.

like everything else. it is a tool and has its place and use.
