Default Love handles

I am not fat by any means but do find that I have a love handle on each side. Which exercises would be good for me to eliminate these?

If exercise caused dramatic spot reduction, everyone who rammed crunches would have 6 packs. They don't.

But...but...but...but...b...you get the idea

Spot Reduction, the myth but is it? This topic was raised a few years ago, elsewhere and people noted that they had indeed less noticeable bodyfat in areas of the body that were utilised more. I have since come across information which shows a study (yeah, I know ) indicates that the muscles being used draw a certain percentage of their energy directly from the fat above/around the muscle in question.

That's not to say that diet isn't the main key for fat reduction just that the area being worked may have some spot reducing ability.

Your nutrition. There NO such thing as exercise spot reduction for fat. Sorry.

IF your doing sit ups instead of crunches your building your hip flexers not abbs. This will push the love handle areas out more.

I agree that there is no magic fix. I have found that once I started a better nutrition program I was able to lose some of the fat I had.

I could tell you to do crunches but that will get you no where. I still have small love handles.

I think is the study you were looking for. Basically the researched were able to increase blood flow in the fatty tissue near the working muscle. Giving greater loss in adipose tissue than the adjacent region.

There is no real magic. You can make the fat dissappear with some good old exercise and do some crunches to tighten you up but unless you take a look at your full diet, you may be wasting your time.

Just embrace them and love those love handles, or do squats and cleans.
