KBs go up to around 200 lbs, it's really about what you can afford or manage to get hold of; where DLs are concerned, I'd agree, it would clearly be difficult to get a lot of weight together to use them for strength, whereas for jerks 100kgs in one arm can be done.

Depending on how strong a person is, depends on whether they can use the KBs that they're able to get hold of purely for strength. They get pricey which is one issue over a barbell.

For me, a 28kg KB goes a long way and I haven't started jerking it yet but hoping to. Understandably 28kg for some would be insignificant, so in that sense, yes, barbells would work better for strength.



Smalldon: Strength training with KBs is all about the rep range as with barbells; they're just weights albeit in a different form.
