I competed April 28th, 2012 in my first bodybuilding show at 194.5lbs and took 3rd in my class. I hope to compete again someday and eventually get my natural pro card. I train at Body Zone in Reading, PA and New Vision Fitness in Orwigsburg, PA! Looking forwarding to getting to "know" some of you!
Welcome... and that's awesome! You will definitely get your natural pro card...

When I was in high school my weight was at 305 with a 185 pound bench max. Insane, right? Not my weight is down to 205 with a 295 1rm, 365 squat 1rm, and 405 1rm.

I am currently studying Computer Engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University, but have yet to dive in to the major classes. Looking forward to it, though.

Kind of a lazy guy. I have a hard time recording calories and remaining strict about recording training sessions. It's time to get out of that though.

My philosophy concerning training is that I was always listen to my body and what it can do. It's good to push the limits, but not all the time to where you feel like crap. Pretty simple, but not sure how affective it will be in the long run, so we shall see.

Look forward to hearing from anyone that has any helpful tips. I will post my training schedule later on this week.
Welcome...I will be keeping an eye on your log since I am moving to the Metro Atlanta area soon...

Hello everyone,

my name is Jelle and I live in the Netherlands. I'm 18 and currently wrapping up my last year of high school after which I plan to study nutrition and health at a university.

Up until the age of 14 I never really did any form of sport but around my 14th birthday I started competitive cycling and running (parents are endurance sport addicts). After doing this for about 2-3 years I felt like I didn't enjoy cycling and running anymore so I stopped (I'd also been dealing with a knee injury for some time which made it even less enjoyable). Not doing any form of exercise again was really depressing to me and it got to the point where I just had to do SOMETHING.

I tried many things but nothing really appealed to me until I tried the gym. One of the employees at the gym gave me a routine which was, looking at it now, pretty random and incoherent. The silliness of the routine didn't matter though, I loved it. Even though I was lifting maybe 30% of what the majority of the guys in there was lifting, I just knew that this was the sport for me. Doing those heavy compound movements like the squat and deadlift just felt right.

I'm around 1.80m 76kg. My lifts are definitely nothing to brag about looking at what some people can lift but I'm proud of every rep that I progress! My goal is training for the squat, deadlift and bench press and strength in general.

Keep on lifting dem iron!

Thumbs up My name is Josh Gaylord

I have spent most my life working out through football and the Army. Now I am a civilian and really want some competition. I have also always had a love of power and strength. Now that is my only real fitness goal other than doing enough cardio to do an occasional 5K or 10K with the wife. Looking forward to learning all that I can and mixing it with a lot of sweat. Gonna work till I

Hopefully I will be participating in the Scottish Games in my home town of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Personal tips that I've learned along my still short journey:

Leave your ego at the door.
Prepare. Showing up dehydrated, hungry, and tired will guarantee failure.
Be ready to fight for that grinder of a PR.
Listen and learn. Absorb everything you can, and assimilate that knowledge.

Squat: 415lbs
