Default Greetings

Wow..!

I see a lot of familiar people here. Some of you may remember me... some... perhaps just as well. I missed you all most of all.

I fell off the wagon this winter. Simply put, I got un-engaged and mega-depressed.

I stopped lifting and spent the winter growing an ass and gut. For those of you that don't know... if you want to keep depression in check... keep lifting.

I got an email from fenri who pointed me to this site. I haven't done anything as far as working out other than registering here. I still have a gym membership and I need to get there soon while I am motivated. I also could set up a decent home gym if I set up my cage.

I was doing 5X5's, I don't know what I'm capable of right now... probably very little except a lot of DOMs.

I'm an open book, starting over and all help would be appreciated.

Welcome.

'Tis a great site, full of excellent and helpful people. I haven't been here long, but am so glad I decided to drop in one day.

Start logging your workouts, is my advice. There's a forum for that, and it really is worth doing.

All the best for your continuing journey.

Thanks Dray..!

I started fixing up my account here to feel more at home and as per your advice I have started a log. No workouts yet but moving in that direction. It does indeed look like a great site. I see many excellent and helpful people here.

Thanks fen..!

And thanks for telling me about this site. It came at a good time for me and I'm very psyched to get things rolling again.

Got the log started... plan is for 5X5's to start.

I hope you are right about the DOM's, as well. I always hated crashing the last six inches to the toilet...

Yep... un-engagement is not something I would wish on anyone.

I see that you are from Charlotte. I have spent the last 2 winters in Concord. In fact, I will be headed back for a week near the end of the month.
What is your connection with Pittsburgh? I live in SW PA about 2 hours from Pitt.

Thanks markievicz..!

Good point re: goals before advice.

Short term... to undo all the fat gain and muscle/strength loss of the last 7 months of inactivity.

Long term... to get myself in the best shape I possibly can, before I no longer can. To build as much strength and muscle as I can and see steady positive progress.

I'll be 60 in December... the aging I can deal with as long as I am progressing. The last 7 mos was a big kick in the teeth. Last fall I was in the best shape I ever was.

I know I will never be a pro powerlifter or bodybuilder. I know that I will never be a porn star either... but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy training like one.
