glift is off to a bad start
Default 16 and ready

Hi everyone I am glift or Doug. I am ready to start lifting. I am 16 years old and have really thought over the past year that I would like to start lifting. Looking forward to getting some advice on here from anyone that has done it for a while and anyone that can offer me tips along the way. See you all around.

Best advice I can offer, find some videos on youtube, someone like Rippetoe, and watch em til you feel like you understand. Go lift to get some practical application and perspective. Then come back and ask the guys here how to fix things you find not working for you, and explain things that you might still not see. Repeat for the next few years. There will always be room for improvement. Always.

Personal tips that I've learned along my still short journey:

Leave your ego at the door.
Prepare. Showing up dehydrated, hungry, and tired will guarantee failure.
Be ready to fight for that grinder of a PR.
Listen and learn. Absorb everything you can, and assimilate that knowledge.

Bench: 315lbs
