Cease smoking

I need to stop smoking but have tried and just can not. What are some ways you have found to stop if you have been a smoker?

You have to be STRONGER than the cravings. If you aren't strong, you will fail.

It takes most people several attempts to stop. And you have to want to quit, no ads, infomercials or Drs will make you want to. You have to dig down deep and find the courage to quit. Took me five times over 15 years. The strong even fail, keep your head up.

Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I have ever done. What worked best was to be aware of what they were doing to me.

And then get angry with them, and I mean f-@!# pissed.

One more will always lead to another.

Remember that quitting smoking is the single greatest act you can do for you're health.

It can be done. You CAN do it!

Nicotine replacement helped, I used the lozenges.

By the way squats are a bitch when you have COPD.

I went "Cold Turkey" worked for 18 years till a real bad divorce. Then it was smoke or drink. I am a emotional alcoholic so I took smoking. I have given up cigs with all the chemicals for cigars. I'm not proud of the fact I could kick all bad habits but I can't give up my cigars. :(

Hubby went cold turkey which failed the first 3 times and then he got angry about smoking and quit, it worked. The reason for the anger was that he'd intended going to a function and decided to quit that day then we both realised there would be smokers there which would make things really difficult especially through the initial hours of non-smoking; but, he'd decided to quit that day and did.

A reason is a must and it has to be centred around you and nobody else.

My brother used Chantix. Failed the first time on it but the second time he tried it worked for him.
