Tight muscles

What are some ways to relieve tight muscles? I get them from time to time in my arms and it can hurt. What do you use?

How much water per day do you drink? Staying hydrated will help with stiff and sore muscle and it is also very healthy. Also try stretching your muscles.

Stretching is a great way to get rid of tightness.

I never used to be a water drinker until I started getting cramps. Now I make sure to get 8 full cups a day sometimes more.

I try to drink a gallon or more of water every day.

Stretching, foam rolling, rolling on a lacrosse ball, shoulder dislocates w/broomstick. Find the tight areas and just slowly work into them - ya don't want to kill yourself, but it shouldn't be comfortable either. Getting plenty of water is always good, but I don't think hydration will help a whole lot with tightness.

dynamic stretching, strengthen the opposing muscles, i.e. tight chest = weak upper back, tight calves = weak shins

water, static stretches, trigger point deactivation.

Could you see about asking a PT? They should know how to deal with this.
