Default EPOC Training

In my most recent blog on my site I talked about EPOC training. Working at a university as a strength and conditioning coach, doesn't only entail in working with athletes. I also have to work with faculty/staff/administrators and help them with their training (that's what my assistant and interns are for). But, I still make sure to educate them on certain aspects of training.

EPOC, excessive post-exercises oxygen consumption. I've mentioned this to my clients and other individuals who i try to help who are looking for overall health and weight loss.

EPOC increases your metabolism over an extended period of time. Research has found that individuals who increased their EPOC index through resistance training can increase their metabolism for up to 36 hours after their workout.

So if you are interested in weight loss or better yet fatloss, I would highly recommend looking more into how to increase your EPOC.

Sounds interesting.. I usually lift for an hour or so, then hit the treadmill for another hour. I'm breathing semi-heavy, HR around 150 average, up higher on sprints.. Not sure if that is the same thing though...

Will read more, from your blog and other places. I'll do all I can to keep my metabolism running full speed.
