Default Waterbury

I'm just trying to generate some topic starters. I will be attempting to submit some random topic starters in techniques, theories and philosophies. I am in no means pro or anti in these starters, purely random selections.

Lets go, what are your opinions of Waterbury's training philosophy?

I believe he at some point advocated a 10x3 style with a tight rest and heavy weight. I am all about this style. It's very much Hepburn-esque.

With that being said how do you think that one's CNS and joints would hold up over the long term?

I ran an 8x3 for about 3-4 months and felt ok. At some point periodization or deloads might be needed. A lot of this depends on the level of the lifter and the overall program structure; how progression is structured, training frequency, etc.

If I am doing this style of training once a week I will handle it better.

For deadlifts I don't like triples, so I probably wouldn't use it.

I have a workout I put together that alternates between an 8x3 heavy day and a rest pause day with lighter weight. Just an example of a form of heavy-moderate periodization.

I am big fan of 10x3, usually when I do an extra workout and I am only doing one lift I use 10x3.

I used a lot of 10x3s when I was doing C&P the first time around. I was basically doing a full body 3 times a week with 10x3 or 15 singles. I had very good results from this workout.
