Default What is your best piece of home made equipment

Many of us who train at home have to get inventive. Equipment can be expensive so we often find cheaper solutions.

What is your best piece of Home made equipment?

What is your best under $50 equipment investment?

Mine?

1. My Walker dip station. I found an old walker, one that does not fold up. The width is perfect for dips. Now working on some ideas to raise it up about 6 ".

2. Best under $50 investment. Power Hooks. They let me start my DB lifts without having to kick the weight up, risking my big nose getting broken.

I made a box for squatting out of old 2x4 scraps. I thought it would last maybe 6 months and 4 years later it looks brand new. Cost me nothing as it was junk wood pieces and carpet scraps.

A piece of 2x4 to put my feet on while I do BB Calf raises. Cost, free!
It was just in my garage.

I forgot to mention my reverse Hyper table. Spent about $15 on some galvanized steel pipe sections and some U bolts, the rest was scrap wood, an old pillow and a piece of synthetic leather from wally world. Took some pads off an old leg extension attachment and I have a table to set onto my rack. One day I will build a frame for it.

My latest deal was the $40 Inversion Table I picked up off of Craigs list. My back is in lumbar heaven.

I have a buffalo bar and I use two huge allen wrenches to hold my squat rack pins inward to allow for the bar's curve. Sounds trivial but it really helps me avoid pinching my fingers.

Saw a video of someone doing huge Kroc rows. The best part was the vise grips holding the plates in place.

I am now hunting a trap bar.

That would be Matt "Kroc" Kroczaleski himself:

Default Home Gym Stuff... though not 'home made' really

1. Savickas Press
2 long, heavy lengths of chain draped over my pergola, with D bolts which can be set at adjustable heights. This is my squat rack, my wrist curl/shrug machine, and my safety mechanism for heavy overhead and bench pressing.

2. Slab, House & Paving Bricks
I'm tall, so I have bricks holding my pissweak cable rack at a height that's practical for me. I also use them as GL does; for calf raises etc.

I've also created some of my own exercises, but that's another thread
