Hope this day is going well for everyone.


This will be my journal. This journals' intent is to serve two purposes:

1. As my personal dieting and training journal

2. A place to attempt to make another member feel better.

A place to post philosophy comments, and feed the mind as we journey toward our personal goals. To give the forum and members posts to motivate the power within. To provide execuses to WIN and not execuses to LOSE.

And, realize there is beauty within their own skin

So they can ROCK adversity on the chin

One truest form of wisdom is learning to "master yourself" within your fitness goals.

We have a hunger of the mind which asks for knowledge of all around us, and the more we gain, the more is our desire; the more we see, the more we are capable of seeing.

The power connection between the mind and biological responses of the body we are trying to change for the better.

From the introductory thread: (brief background, fitness related)

Name: Don

Age: 49 (50 years old in August, 25, 11)

Height: 5’ 7” (with high...heal shoes on)

Weight: Current 170 (BF 7.5%)

Marital status: Married 26 years (once, 27 years on april, 26, 11); two children 22, 25.

Years training: 4+

Personal Goals accomplished:

This isnt exaustive, but just a general background introduction.

2006-2007: (First Fitness Goal Attempt)

Starting Weight 2006: 190 pounds (approximate), "very fat", overweight with man boobs. Body fat very high.

Didn't check so not sure on Percentage.

Ending Weight May-June 2007: 152-154 pounds, over 40+ approximate pounds lost.

Ending Body Fat June 2007: 8% (DEXA)

Goal met: 40 pounds of weight lost. Defined ab core, maintaining/building as much muscle--as possible. Reduce back pain, take care of health and dexterity to be in a position to provide care for my wife as we get older.

Weight Starting: 152-154 pounds

July 2008 (approximately):

Ending approximate weight: 161-162 pounds

Body Fat: 7.8%

Goal Met: One year (approximately) on a careful bulk to "net" a 7-8 pound increase in overall weight, and dip under 8% Body fat.

Every year, I give a gift to my body that is carrying me through this walk of life, and this year I am 50 years old, and will be no different, trust me. I will do it......the body has no choice but to follow my brain, it is the train.

Thank you. I just eat hard food, and never have taken any supplements, other than fish oil. I like hard food, especially when dieting down, and avoid liquids (cause they digest too quickly); therefore, I generally go to the store with combating food cravings in mind, and buy food stuffs for these purposes (maintain a even insulin and avoid insulin spikes, keep belly full of hard digesting stuff--fiber and what not, etc).

When I was a teen, I saw these (the core muscle), and when I got into my 40's, weight gain was becoming a problem, and I embarked on a journey. I was told time after time, to forget seeing them again (and gaining muscle) as I was too old. If I would have listened, I would be in the same boat. My body as responded well for being nearly a half centery old, and fug.......the nay sayers, baby.

ROCK ON!
