There was one time when I was in a bench rut. I went into the gym and did a 10 x 10 pushups session. My next workout I crushed a PR.

I actually woke up from a dream this morning in which I was showing my daughter how to do push ups.

Pushups are a great tool when done correctly. The key is getting good scapula movement.

I boasted about the 25 I did yesterday, and the soon-to-be nine year old looked at me in amazement and said, "I need to learn from the master." She's taken a keen interest lately in pushups, pullups, and situps. I think some of it has to do with a new school and new gym teacher. Not that the old gym teacher was bad, just different emphasis. The other day though my daughter mentioned that she wished hockey did more for the upper body. I told her it can, if the coach makes you do pushups on the ice. I've seen it happen. I must nip this in the bud. I can't stand to see one of my offspring getting bicep and pec happy. What would Darwin think?
