Default Adding Partial Deadlifts

I've been squatting 3 days a week; medium workout on Tuesday, light on Thursday and heavy on Saturday. Anywhere from 4 to 6 work sets, shooting for a new 3 rep max on Saturdays. Saturday's new max become the top set of 5 the following Tuesday.

I've also been deadlifting on Saturdays, 1 set of 5 reps. I add 15 pounds week to week, but I feel like I may have to cut that to 10 before long.

My question is, should I add any partial deadlifts and if so, where? I'm thinking of stiff leg deads, rack pulls, etc. My goal is strength first, size second. I don't compete (not yet anyway), and I'm definitely not a bodybuilder.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Partial deadlifts would be part of the move; e.g. lockouts, rack pulls, etc.

I would do them to try to hit the right volume. I was doing the full deadlift 3 times every two weeks, but it got to the point that I couldn't recover from workout to workout. I cut back to once a week while increasing the amount I add each week, and it works better. But, I wonder if 5 reps a week might be too little work.

I would do partial deadlifts on Tuesday after your medium squats. It seems many people here had great carryover to the deadlift doing SLDL. You could also do block pulls on that day, really not as taxing as pulling from the floor.
I would also add light high reps Dimel deadlifts on light squat day.
Only my 2 cents...

What are your current lifts and training experience?

10lbs a week at any level is extremely great progress regardless. I wouldn't change anything until things start to stall completely or recovery becomes an issue.

If you are squatting 3x a week, 1 set of 5 is plenty.

I've about 7 months of solid training under my belt. I hit 330 for 5 this past Saturday, felt like I could do more.

Good point. Maybe I'm being greedy.
