If it is a sound and basic structure around this context:

"Getting a lean “toned” physique means a lot of hard training, dedication, eating right, and changing your lifestyle".

I would not have an issue referring to the above exact statement.

However, I do have some issue with this comment:

"If you are using a weight that you can do 12 or 15 reps and still able to keep going if you want to, you are not doing anything for yourself.

You must choose a weight for each exercise that challenges you to barely get that last rep of your set, otherwise you are wasting your time."

This is NOT true for everybody. Higher rep ranges do in fact have their time and place, it just depends.

A person in the correct position, and already in a fairly lean condition, and having trained for a while, could maximize the use of carbohydrates with a HIGHER REP RANGE, when the purpose is depleting the liver glycogen, and wanting to lower body fat even further, revealing more of the underlining muscle and seeing more of the muscle in its relaxed state.

Especially after the super-compensation period (or refeed of carbohydrates)

In addition, the same goal purpose could be used (for the one in the correct position) to restart fat loss when a plateau develops (especially when real lean say under 9 percent), when the body fights back harder decreasing certain hormones and elevating others. Its simply one tool in the tool box. And, its a shame most people do not utilize it, because it is really a powerful thing.

With Respect,

Don

You can nit pick the details, but the overall message is one people need to hear. Heavy weights, eat right, work hard...it's stuff we talk about and live every day but a lot of people have no clue what to do in the gym to get where they want to be.

Best way to cut, is to take in the person's personal particulars, and base a sound diet and training program around this premise, while keeping it simple, straight forward, while working in some things to deal with some weaknesses and strengths related to diet and their training.

The best supplement known to man or woman, is the contents of ones own skull, while "working with" things that are pretty much natural: eating and movement.

I agree most need to heed the message that is between the lines, as there are far too much BS feeding the population that need to reduce good weight, while at the same time though, we need to remember, not to provide a blanket party for all.

Infomercials are allow to stink up the viewing publics mind: "Hey, take this, and sit on the couch and watch the fat-loss show!" They open the wallet first, before opening their mind.

Best regards,

Don
