The two I went too before my home gym, down here in Ga, were both $20 a month. There are others around that run about $45-60/month.

They aren't too bad around here. Gold's, Anytime Fitness, and Planet Fitness are all 10-20 bucks a month. The YMCA is CRAZY expensive. My gym is 20 bucks a month. I chose it mainly because it is less than a mile from home.

Free for me at work. We got a pretty nice gym after the flood of '08 wiped out our ancient one with the old time Universal machines and very little free weight stuff. Now we have lots of free weight for BB and DB's, hip sled, glute-ham station, etc. Thankfully for me a local college allowed us officers use of their gym while we waited for two years for ours to be replaced, free of charge and any time of the day too!

Local community center $10 a month, down side, only got one squat rack.

Only other option is National Fitness - $60 a month - just two squat racks.

I dont see paying the extra 50 for it

I use the university gym. It's $80 a month or $550 a year. Both in Australian dollars and includes all classes, pool, tennis and squash courts etc.

I use my college's gym the most-the membership is covered by tuition.

I also go to a gym in Cambridge that has a $40/month membership

At home I go to a YMCA. My family has a family membership that's in the 600-800 range, so it ends up being very reasonable given that we're five.

I use an independent gym owned by a local firefighter and powerlifter. $35 a month with 24 hour access, two comp benches, an awesome power rack, monolift, Texas deadlift bar, 3 squat bars, Hammer Strength machines. Pretty good setup and I've got a good group of guys to lift with, to boot!!

In Leavenworth Kansas we have Genesis which runs $49 a month on a two year contract. It is a nice well equipped gym, but being as they will not let me pay monthly without a contract I do not use them.

Two gyms on Fort Leavenworth. I have not been to one of them, but the other is very nicely equipped and power lifting friendly. They even provide chalk. Upside is it is free for active, reserve and retired military. It is cooler than my garage in the summer and warmer than my garage in the winter. Downside is, a month or so before the different commands have their APFT's, it gets really crowded.

We have an Anytime Fitness, but I have never been there. I would assume that being as it is an upstairs business, they would probably frown on deadlifting.

We have a community center with a nice pool, indoor track, racket ball courts, cardio room and a weight room equipped with a bunch of Nautilus equipment. It only cost $2 a day to use. There are some free weights and a rickety squat rack. The cost is certainly good, and there is hardly anyone ever in the weight room. I just wish it was equipped with more free weights.

My home gym in the garage is my favorite place to lift. Listen to the music I like, and no one to bitch if I leave my bar loaded. Downside, the wife seems to come down with a list of honey do chores when I am working out. Never could figure out why she can't think of this stuff before, or let it wait until I am finished.
