Smile squat trouble bare foot versus powerlifting shoes

does barefoot training have a place in powerlifting? for the past year iv worn vibram five finger shoes and am wondering if that lack of support is whats contributing to my right ankle rolling when at the bottom of the squat. or am I focusing on pushing my knees apart to drive back up I have 2 videos up on youtube but cant link them till I have posted a bit more but my youtube name is cancer7787 any help will be appreciated

My ankles hurt just watching you slam your feet into the ground like that, lol!

I think it's time to ditch the minimal shoes. Your depth and form look pretty solid, so I think you should try flat soled supportive shoes. Chucks are a good standby and my personal lifting shoe, but nike also makes some good flat soled shoes. You need a supportive shoe that will allow you to push your feet outward throughout the lift without worrying about turning your ankle.

I even get my lifting shoes a half size small so they'll give tons of support. I couldn't walk around in them all day but they work very well for squats and deads.
