Default Chalk

For those working out at home remember to wipe the chalk off your stuff after training.

Chalk is used to absorb moisture and thereby help with the grip, however, chalk left on equipment still draws moisture to it and the thing beneath that chalk is normally metal in the form of plates, barbells etc.


Wipe your equipment down and have it serve you longer!

This was a great thread Babs! Made me look into it and I guess it's suggested you use a stiff nylon bristle brush. Also read your supposed to use WD-40 and wipe down your bars once a week at a commercial gym and every two months or so if it's just at your home.
Does anyone do this??? How do you get the excess oil out from between the knurling if you wipe it down?

Rusty looks hardcore, I agree, but I'm not sure I wanna mess with possible lockjaw

One of my KB handles had a look of old hardcore rustiness to it when it arrived but I'm putting it down to storage and a low trunover due to people not buying much above the lighter loads.
