There may very well be contraindications to foam rolling in some situations. Same as anything in life. No idea what and in whom they'd be mind you?
I get a lot of relief from using a hockey ball as well. Hips, glutes or glute/ham tie-in.

I have never used it before. But I have heard that some find it really useful. I see a few guys doing it at the gym but did not know that it could be useful. I may have to look into doing this. Do you do it after every workout?
