Default Heel pain

I am having some severe heel pain today in my right heel. Feels like I bruised it and also my ankle is slightly swollen. Any ideas to make my foot feel better? I have been icing it but did not know if anyone could offer me some more relief.

Ibuprofen is a must. Stretch is by gently pulling your toes up and touching them with your hands. Hold for a few seconds. Or you can also give your foot a massage.

Just thought of something as well. How about something like icy hot to apply to your foot? This may work well.

Stretch your calves and this may help you out. Ice them and massages will work as well. Or how about soaking your feet in epsom salts.

In order to really know how to progress with any treatment, you have to first work out if you did anything to it, that you remember, and if you didn't do anything that you can recall but just woke up with a bad heel, then you need it checked out for sure.

Did you run into something? Twist your ankle that you can recall? I would say that if it is not better in a few days with self treatment of ice and rest as well as Ibuprofen you need to go to the doc.

Could be plantar fasciitis. My wife had it. Just google it and there will be plenty of sites with causes and cures. Good luck with it. It was really painful for her.

Here is a good site: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0004438/

Ryano, how long did your wife have it? What methods worked for her to get rid of it?

Wear one of those braces. You can get them pretty cheap. I have a pair of blue ones that came from Walmart and they were 88 cents for both. They work great.
