Dang back
I threw my back out somehow and it is all out of whack. I suspect that I need to do some exercises for it to strenghten it. What should I be doing exactly?

I have messed up my lower back so many times. If it is my ciatica (spelling?) then I just do stretches for my periformis. If it is the muscle then I just take naproxin sodium (aleve) and sometimes wear a back brace while working.

How messed up is it? Do you need to see a doctor for it? Or go to a PT? I know a few years ago I went to a PT for my back and that did wonders for me.

I would suggest what Jesda did. Back troubles are nothing to mess with. I saw a PT for some trouble I had with my arm once and it really did help.
