burning the fat
would i burn more fat from doing cardio after a weight session or on a rest day,and if i did my cardio after weights could i get away with a shorter cardio session say 10/15 mins and have a good fat burning effect.

Honestly I think the difference is going to be minimal. You'd be better off doing cardio when you want and dialing in your diet.

Cardio exercises are best for the fat burning and weight loss.
You should do the cardio exercises daily for at least 30 minutes, and you should also do variety of the cardio such as jogging, running, swimming, riding, and cycling etc. to get perfect results for the fat burning.
