Sugar fact

I just read that the average peson eats 128 pounds of sugar per year for persons in the US. 100 years ago they only ate about 4 pounds per person a year. I find this very disgusting and disturbing.

And we wonder why we have health issues.

Wow that is gross. I am glad to say now I do not eat that much. I may have before but not since I lost all my weight.

Someone else is getting my average portion :chow:

angie828 07-26-2012 07:23 PM

That is just plain gross.

Wow that is a lot of sugar. Maybe I need to go into the sugar cane business, lol.

Probably all those Skittles I ate.

I want to know where they find these "average" sugar-eating people and how they work out exactly how much they're eating; or maybe it's just overall sales divided by population which really doesn't mean the same thing.

That seems like so much. But i guess when you consider how much pop we drink, sugary snacks and cereal we eat then it really does all add up.
