Default Heroes vs. Villains

Over the past year or so I have been introduced to a number of new names in regards to training, lifting, bodybuilding and coaching: Jim Wendler, Frank Zane, Mark Rippetoe, just to name a few. I usually run to Wikipedia or Google them to find out more.

As we all know there is a lot of information out there, some good, some bad...some shysters, hucksters and shills, and some real down to earth, honest to goodness men and women with top grade advice and admirable training techniques.

So, on the positive side, who are your weight lifting/coaching/bb-ing/PL-ing heroes?
(I'd ask for your opinions on villains too, but I'm not sure we want to get into mudslinging and trash talk.)

I don't pay much attention to the pro lifters but if I had to select a hero it would be Ed Coan, followed by Benni.

Ed Coan certainly has some great stats:

Squat - 1019 lbs (~462 kg)
Bench press - 584 lbs (~265 kg)
Deadlift - 901 lbs (~409 kg)
(from Wikipedia)

Ed Coan has owned multiple world records, and the more amazing part is that they're in different weight classes. IMO, Ed is the definition of the word beast.

And Benni, well, Benni's deadlift speaks for for him...

Good question. My heroes are people who understand the value of simplicity and hard work.

John Christy. Rippetoe. Iron Addict (Wesley Silveria).

My heroes are people who see lifting as an art form, and not a scientific equation.

My heroes are people who know the "magic secret"...Persistence, resistance and food.

One of my biggest heroes is also Casey Butt, for providing goals for the natural bodybuilder.
