There's a time and place for flirting, and most fail to realize that its not when the woman is in the middle of something.

uhg. . .Very happy I don't have to flirt anymore.

That's what beer is for. I'm not sure if I got better at flirting when I was buzzed, or if the women were just more receptive. Probably a little bit of both.

I found that ignoring them works best. It forces them become the "aggressor", and gives you an idea of who is really interested and who isn't; instead of making yourself look like an ass by talking to women who don't have an interest in you.

I grew up with 3 sisters and my mother, so learning to understand women wasn't an option... But it sure helped me get the ladies.

There are a few places in the public domain where gender stereotypes still rule people's behaviour; the free weight section is one of these places.

Good plan - I just want to be treated like one of the guys in the gym because i'm there to train. I like getting sweating, and grunting, and making horrendous faces under a bar - I don't want to think about having to look good there lol. Some women do, and that's ok! It's just not for me.

Thanks for being one of the good guys

I must be lucky, I've never seen it. I've never seen a woman treated any differently by anyone. I would, and have offered assistance with form same as I would to a man. I've watched complete sets same as i would with a man to either learn or offer assistance if necessary. I've helped unrack weight, same as I would with a man. Aren't we all in the same boat regradless of gender or age or any other genetic difference?

Lol, I'm the opposite. I avoid all contact at the gym, for the most part. I have 3 friends at my gym, the rest I've talked to are complete tools. One of my buddies is an ex-college powerlifter. The other two are older guys (mid-late 50's) and they're ****ing strong. Like, really strong. I watch them out lift people less than half their age all day long. Good guys though.

Then there's the lumber jack, who I've had a very brief conversation with; I spotted him, he spotted me and our explanations of what to do were about all we said to each other. This dude is an animal. If I see him again, I'll take a picture. I've never seen anyone work like this guy does. Never.

I'd say you are lucky and i'd love it if your idea of gender equality in the free-weight area was more common. happy to hear you have a different experience than i had. my experience is different - and having fun with it makes it makes it less obnoxious.
