That's one of my life motto's. I think it's a Zig Zigler saying, but I might be wrong.

I learned that quote back in 1994 and have always kept it in my tool belt.

Changing the oil? Assembling a piece of furniture? Moving an old laundry dryer? I don't care how much she wants to help, say no!

Man projects always go wrong, and swearing and throwing tools are part of the man ritual. Women become easily terrified of the man-transformation into this other beastly creature, and will only serve to agitate you with:

"Why do you act like that? It's childish!"

"If you would have just let me help this would have been over with already!"

"Stop it you're scaring the kids!"

When we enter into this other being, we tend to lose our minds and respond with "the eyebrow", "the look", more swearing, or even telling the wife in a harsh voice "get lost and leave me alone."

LOL, I'm good with furniture...several times I've had to inform hubby he's got it wrong and then help him disassemble and reassemble the thing correctly Then again, I lift things up and put them down again

Well Babs you are superhuman, so I might let you help.

Most women don't understand how men work though.

For example...say I'm carrying a heavy old microwave to the back door and ask a woman to open the door. She might open it a crack, whereas a guy knows to open that sucker full bore so I can lug that heavy sucker out without dying.

Another example...I am building a wooden swing set. Woman wants to help. I ask for a phillips, and she says "which one is that?" I tell her and she still brings back the wrong screwdriver, or brings back a tiny unusable phillips.

^ In both cases said woman has actually created more work.

Men just want to get the project over so they can sit, eat and drink.
