Physique Goals We all want to look awesome, at least to a certain point. The problem with physique goals
is that the people that always want them will never succeed they are always critical about themselves and
are rarely happy. They measure there self-worth with a bodypart or a look that will never be satisfied. Now
there is a difference between being happy and never being content.

Even when having measurable goals in the squat, diet or sports one can still be pleased with reaching
goals BUT never be content. Like I said to someone today, Id rather kick ass than have a nice ass.
So grab a throat, make some babies (you can do these at the same time, if shes into that) and do something
awesome. Thats called life not an endless battle of looks and postures.

Good quote by Jim Wendler. I would also add that some (not all) of those with physique goals usually expect you to have the same standards, and if you don't, they quite often put you down to feed their insecurities and make themselves feel better about their choices.

This reminds me of a conversation I had a while back with some weak ****er who looks like an underwear model. He observed my 1 day a week abs routine (weighted situps, front bends, knee bends, and ab wheel) and made it a point to advise me thusly:
Weak ****er: Hey brah, you should try some Swiss ball ab work. It gives much better results; in fact that's how I got my 6 pack.
Me: No brah, you got your 6 pack from genetics and dietary discipline. Besides, I have no interest in a 6 pack I just want a bigger deadlift.
Weak ****er: Whatever brah, don't listen to someone who obviously knows more about abs.
Me: Well, put your money where your mouth is, I challenge you to a deadlift contest. We can even use Wilkes ratio to determine the winner since you're small.
Weak ****er: Oh, I never deadlift. You can really **** up your back with those.
Me: Yeah, if your back and abs are weak you sure can **** things up on heavy deads. Good luck with your six pack faggott, Ill be squatting tomorrow if youre interested in doing a mans workout.

THE SQUAT

Down this road, in a gym far away,
a young man was heard to say,
"no matter what i do, my legs won't grow"
he tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses , too
trying to cheat, these sissy workouts he'd do.

from the corner of the gym where the big men train,
through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain
where the noise is made with big forty fives,
a deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees.
a very big man with legs like trees.

laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack
chalking his hands and monstrous back,
said, "boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten,
the trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN'. "
