Blacking out, the dangers.
*Apnea = not breathing, the cessation of breathing.
When performing dryland apnea practice - if a blackout occurs, apnea practice should be ceased immediately and not began again until at least 24 hours later; this is because secondary apnea can occur (which is like secondary drowning) and it is probable that the body will not start breathing again, of its own volition, which may mean probable/possible death may ensue.
Apnea Training and blacking out is the same process as blacking out during other activities, so the 24 hour rule should be applied for good measure. If blackout occurs and a person prefers to continue training then just go light and not to the limits of possible blackout; with freediving of course, it's just wiser to stop and wait the 24 hours.
The info may be of use which is why I posted it, no point in having info like this to hand and not sharing it.
