TSA - April 12, 2011

The TSA, still saving us from terrorists.

UGH. I rant about this stuff all the time. I actually plan to carry the TSA regulations with me when I travel from now on, so when they question me I can show them the regs and ask that they show me where they have the authority to do what they are doing.

My offense, but they are the equivalent of WalMart employees. They don't have half the authority to do half the shit they pull. Poorly trained and loosely regulated. Good for that mom in whipping out her smartphone and video taping it.

Saw an article a while ago saying how they detained a man for having a large sum of cash in his carry on. Last time I checked, there is nothing illegal about carrying, say $2000 dollars with you on an airplane. UGH.

Americans need to wake up about this stuff. As is, the population lets people scare them into agreeing with just about anything as long as it's "for the greater good and safety" of the masses.

Will the idiocy never cease?

We will be driving for our upcoming family trip to Florida. I am not going to have my children violated and scared half to death by these nitwits.

MC 04-13-2011 01:49 PM

There is never a reason for a child to have to endure a pat down. Ever.

We've got the full body scanners here, and although I am not a huge fan of those, that line goes faster than the regular screening lines and usually entails fewer secondary checks.

What exactly do they expect to find? Why not just ask her to undress in public (that's sarcasm, in case anyone thinks I'm being serious).

I once went through airport security and because the stupid machine bleeped I was frisked and had to place my tictacs and hanky in a container to be scanned which is just too stupid for words really...only to be informed, at a later date by someone who works as security there, that the machines automatically bleeps at every 5th person anyway.

A lot of overtime in their checks from slowly frisking everyone.
