Have a 6-pack
Don't have a 6-pack
So, what does your other half think when you want to change that aspect? Since all of them mean that there are changes seen in the physical form, are there problems of acceptance if a person decides they no longer want to follow the bodybuilding muscles rippling path and want to powerlift and maybe gain a not so slim or well-defined 6-pack...or when a person goes from not training to having defined muscles etc.
Have any of you ever come across issues or know anyone that has? Is it possible to meet halfway when it's something we may want but the other party does not?
Personally, I'm fortunate and have a husband who is fine with whatever I'm doing.

I met my wife at a time when I was not lifting. I think when I told her that I lifted in the past she thought I was a bit kooky, but she tolerated my "old war stories".
Within a year after we met we both got a gym membership.
I started lifting hardcore and my pressing strength was uncanny. She would remark to me each day, "I can't believe how big your arms are."
She asks that I never go on steroids because I am already big.
My wife generally tolerates my lifting, but I do respect her wish not to blow up like an IFBB pro (like that would ever happen). So I guess this answers the question.
Regarding having a six pack...I think my wife doesn't mind this goal, but if I ever did get shredded I think she would secretly try to fatten me up.

My wife did NOT like the idea of me competing as a bodybuilder but understands powerlifting a lot more. She likes it that I have something which occupys my time and understands that I am goal driven which gets satisfied by my lifting. She doesn't like it when I get obsessed with it all and spend my free evenings on YouTube, MAB etc but overall she's OK with it.
As for physical changes: she likes the bigger muscles particularly back, arms, trap's and quad's. She's not a massive fan of the power belly but she's pregnant so her perception is slightly skewed now

we train together when we're together, she announces at a lot of meets, I help her out when I'm not handling my teammates at meets, and I'm going to get her some new gear so she can start training for a big meet in november.

My wife actually encouraged me to start in a gym after training herself to compete some 12-14 years ago (before falling pregnant). I was always to concerned previously in going out getting drunk and being an idiot.
She was right that I needed to start, not just because I was so out of shape I was unsightly, but also because we have kids that need a good example and that it was affecting my health (being overweight).
She now thinks Im obsessed and wants to know why I cant get 'real friends' rather than telling her stories of 'not real people, that we'll never meet' Untill we went to LtL's meet of course and thought it was pretty cool that there were guys there picking up small automobiles lol...
She thinks I am, sad, daft and comsumed by the forums and training, but she loves me for it.
If I ever wanted to compete she would probably support me (grudgingly) as she supports me in most things, but I think she prefers how i look now than if I were to get either bigger, or more ripped...
God love her
