Probably going to watch Sharknado tonight. Seems to be a candidate for several oscars and nobel prizes.
Sharknado... Better than Twilight. Just staring at a wall is better than Twilight.

The World's End. Decent film but not as funny as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. My sister was in it which was weird.

Oblivion. Captivating start. Sputtering finish. Worth a watch.

The Wolverine. A good adaptation of Claremont and Miller's iconic Wolverine mini-series of the early 1980s. A more internal story, set after the events of X3, with Logan haunted by Jean's death. I think it was a solid B/B+. The after credit scene sets up X-Men Days of Future Past beautifully.

The Call. This is the tale of two movies. The first hour and forty minutes are gold. Suspense, intrigue, action, drama. I was on the edge of my seat. Then, it all falls apart over the final 20 minutes or so. A+ for the first half. C-- for the last 20 minutes. It's like two different writers were are work. Strange.

End of Watch- This is not hyperbole, this movie was captivating at least to me from start to finish. Michael Pena and Jake Gylenhaal had great chemistry that made up for the paint by numbers villains. Just an outstanding "found footage" cop movie. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Evil Dead(2013)

Let me start by saying that I am a DIEHARD original Evil Dead 1 and 2, Army of Darkness fan. To me, Bruce Campbell is the quintessential B-Movie hero and an Evil Dead remake was a hard, hard thing for me to wrap my head around.

Well, the remake was fucking outstanding.

Granted, there were flaws in the storytelling, like why the Duane Allman look alike reads from the necrominocon and DOESNT TELL ANYONE when crazy shit starts happening. The lead girl was incredible and from watching the special features, it really seems she underwent some psychotic shit to perform the role and it strained her. The director stated they only shot at night, it took over 70 days and everyone involved was run ragged, which I think lended itself to the desperation of the characters and added to authenticity. There were some brutal scenes, brutal dialogue. There is one scene where I think they went WAY overboard on the arterial spray, but I'll let it slide because it added to the dramatics of it.

5 fucking stars. Jane Levy(main star) will be a horror movie icon, or any movie, this girl has some acting chops on her.

Best Scene: Jane Levy with her impromptu Bruce Campbell inpersonation.

*SIDE NOTE*
In an interview with Campbell and Fede Alvarez(new ED director), they have stated that the plan is to do an Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness 2, then a final Evil Dead movie that merges Ash and Mia's narratives.

If this comes to fruition, it will seriously be the greatest movie in my cinephile existance.
