The Dark Knight Rises.

Going into this movie, I didn't have super high expectations. I thought Heath Ledger was transcendent as the Joker (to the point where his acting seemed to throw everyone off like Depp in the first Pirates) and didn't think Nolan could out-do himself, especially after Inception. I read Batman would have multiple love interests and I was like, UH OH!! I saw that they were introducing multiple new characters (comic book movie fail usually). I had recently watched Warrior and even then, had concerns about Tom Hardy having the physicality to play Bane.

Well, I am happy to say that my fears were unfounded. Nolan is a MASTER. That he uses his favorite actors allows them and he to build rapport and shine. Bale continues to do well as Wayne, although I despise the fake deep Batman voice that he and Nolan worked out. Anne Hathaway manages what I have seen no other actress do-- have sexual/romantic chemistry with Bale. Her CatWoman is fearless to a point and badass (in a Borne kind of way. Extra kudos to the costume designers for coming up with a clever way to give her ears.

Michael Caine steals every scene in which he is a part, and clearly, he understands that Alfred is Batman's grounding factor. Gary Oldman, awesomeness that he is, says more by placing on his glasses that anyone does with any words or actions. Gordon-Levitt is the real Deal. He shines throughout. and Hardy. Wow. The man packed on more muscle than in Warrior (sans abs) and he a brutality and physicality unmatched in the film.

TDKR works as both a stand alone if you haven't seen the previous two movies, or as an awesome bookend to the Trilogy. Lots of plot threads and details from previous movies are closed here in a way that has me completely satisfied.

Two paws WAY UP!!

Enjoyed the review MC. I had heard good things about Cat Woman and was intrigued, because on the surface I thought it might be out of place in Nolan's trilogy.

Great review *MC*, can't wait to see it.

That Anne Hathaway is going to be a star for a *VERY* *VERY* long time.

Did you recognize Pittsburgh as Gotham?

I know they were filming here for quite some time.

I'm definitely going to have to find the opportunity to watch this before it leaves the big screen...

Yes. especially when the Gotham football team had Steeler colors, featured Hines Wards and the opposing kicker's last name was Raven-something. :-)

Aurik--I saw it in IMAX and the wider screen was amazing.

TDKR - Amazing movie. Definetly get your money's worth. Plot twist after plot twist. I usually hate anne hathaway but she was good in this. Her best movie by far. Bale and Cain are amazing together so emotional my gf was in tears. Watch the first 2 movies then go see the third. It will add to your experience. Tom Hardy was a good Bane I was worried that he wouldnt be big enough or imposing enough but he was awesome. His voice was creepy as hell. I liked Nolans tip of the hat to the current financial situation in US. "Did you think you could live so large, leaving nothing for the rest of us?" Gary Oldman as Gordon was amazing, so inpirational. I noticed a couple of flaws by extras in the mob scenes but the are easily missed if you dont look hard. Loved batmans new armoury. This team should keep going I love all of these movies.

Red Lights, really enjoyed the film which had a great twist at the end.

Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Hunter, good film, over-the-top action scenes which were expected but that goes with vampire territory. They also broke all the rules, silver for vampires, erm, nooooo, that's werewolves...and out in the daylight, funny, I thought daylight was supposed to burn them to a crisp...but, other than the blatant "rule" changing, a reasonable film.
