Really? That sucks because I was looking forward to that film. Depp has starred in some great films in his time (Gilbert Grape been my favourite) but he has disappointed me in recent times.

On another note, I watched Killer Elite last night. Absolutely brilliant. The storyline caught my attention more so than the acting (however de Niro had a small yet powerful role). The film is based on Ranulph Fiennes' book The Feather Men.

Seriously recommend this to you all!!!

I don't like a lot of Depp films.

Hugo, strange sort of film which didn't ever really get into full swing not even at the end but wasn't bad either, more of a kiddies film but some great insights about life and purpose etc, Depp was one of the producers.

I have heard some good and bad things about that film. Some people have commented that it seemed to lack a point or focus.

Yeah, the lack of focus kind of sums it up pretty well, halfway through the film hubby was contemplating just leaving but it was one of those films where you felt you had to watch to the end and I'm glad we did; not that it made it any more interesting.

The Legend Of Bruce Lee, I started to watch this today. I was so excited as I love Bruce Lee. Well within five minutes (no joke) I turned it off.

On a better note, last night I watched The Reader starring Kate Winslet. I thought it was excellent. The film is set in Germany in the late 50's & follows the relationship between Winslet & a 15yr old schoolboy. She makes a point that the boy must read classic novels to her before they make love. The film follows their relationship until they drift apart & then jumps 10years forward where Winslet is front of a judging panel for actions that happened in a Jewish POW camp whilst she was a guard there. Powerful film.

Yes Man. Usually not a Jim Carrey fan, but this one was different. Not a LOL type of funny show. More of an amusing one. He is a guy that lives a boring life where he says no to everything--going out with his friends, doing/attempting anything new, getting over his ex, approving any loan (he's a loan officer at a bank). He is one of those men who live lives of quiet desperation. After he goes to a life-changing seminar, he must say "yes" to ANY request or opportunity. Needless to say, it gets interesting.

This was an ok movie, but not one I'm likely to watch again. It was a great concept and had good actors in it, but it wasn't pulled off very well (ala Idiocracy).

After reading this, Carrey's latest film sounds very similar to his popular film "Liar Liar".

I watched Dean Spanley a few weeks back. I really enjoyed it. It's a shaggy dog story (literally) based on a Lord Dunsany short story. Sam Neill and Peter O' Toole are fantastic, and it's a great script, very sharp and witty.

It's not exactly unpredictable, but has a lovely eccentric, bittersweet feel, without ever descending into sentimentality.

Dream House, with Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts; a mystery-thriller with a great script and plenty of twists. Well worth seeing.

Pre-film showing hilarity...a woman sits in a set of cordonned off seats (they'd left a gap for disabled access and she thought the row was open); then she realises she shouldn't be sat there and moves; her and her man are sat quietly, the next thing we see is her rummaging through the bin just behind us, and we hear her tell her hubby that she dropped a 5 note in to the bin, by accident; so, he starts rummaging through the bin as well...at this point all eyes are on them and the entire audience is suppressing laughter...well, she goes back to her seat only to find the 5 note on the back of the seat, tells her hubby "It's okay, I've got it!"...she walks past him to get some ice-cream from the foyer and he calls her a nutter as he passes us...and we all watched the film happily ever after. True story!
