Default Screwed: Wal-Mart and Verizon

So I had a cell phone with Alltel. Nice little plan, virtually unlimited data, text and pix and was paying about $65 each month out of pocket. But then Verizon purchased Alltel. Things went ok until I tried to add a line for my daughter.

I went to Wal-mart and asked for the same plan that I currently had for both phones. Wal-mart smiled, said no problem, and we walked out the door happy customers.

Then we received out first bill...$271.

We didn't have the same plan. I called Verizon and they said they only honored the Alltel plan until I upgraded and added a phone.

So under Verizon I pay $10 a month for data on EACH phone ($20) total and received only 25 MBs per month on each phone. Which is about 30 minutes of web surfing a month...maybe.

Verizon also refused to correct the bill. They continually stated it was Wal-mart's problem. My bill included overage charges for text, pix and data. But they did say for $20 a month I could get get unlimited text and pix PLUS a whopping 25 MBs of data per month.

Anyway, I have 30 days to cancel my service with Wal-mart. I can't wait to see what they say about the $270...probably that it's Verizon's issue.

I am so pissed right now. Wal-mart ****ed up my plan, and Verizon refused to help and correct the bill, even knowing my previous plan and that I had been a long time customer.

I need a new cell phone plan with more data. Any suggestions?

I have a family share plan (2 phones), 1400 min. unlimited text and pic. unlimited data for my blackberry for around 121 a month at Verizon. I usually go to a corporate retail store and avoid wally world like the plague. I had a similar experience with US Cellular. Sorry for your luck Brother, shall we smash 'em? lol

Yes for sure ^

That is BS for sure. My bill is never exactly the same yet I have unlimited everything, it still manages tto fluxuate and charge me for little things here and there. I hate Verizon with a passion, its always soemthing new. Im still amazed that at this day in age you can click one button and be on FB instantly on your phone but you can still walk through a doorway and completely drop a simple phone call.

Personally i liked sprint and t-mobile.

Verizon is full of crap and ATT just keeps f'ing dropping my calls.

My current provider is ATT but in about two paychecks from now i will switch to sprint and get a HTC evo 4g

I had Verizon once before, but left because I could never get a signal in my area. I talked to 4 different people and no one could suggest a damn package. I kept saying..."I just want unlimited web, what do I have to do?" You would have thought I was asking them to describe the 7th dimension.

I might try out sprint. or T-mobile.

I think all cell companies suck!!!! Especially where we are. I see those stupid coverage commercial battles between ATT vs Verizon and do a mental eye roll at all of them. There are so many coverage holes over here, it's not even funny!

Sprint or T-mobile are practically non-existant over here. So it's either ATT or Verizon and you have to go with whoever provides the best coverage where you'll be most of the time. Ours is ATT, but I cannot get signal at my parents house or my in-laws (at the lake). Who the hell doesn't put a cell tower by the lake where everyone hangs during the summer???

Sorry Steve, I got carried away

I hope you get it worked out!
