"Latest Posts" at Top of Forum

Is the Latest Posts box at the top of the forum a good thing...or does it encourage you to only check out the latest happenings and ignore the rest of the forum?

I for one tend to only check out latest post.

But I think that taking it down might stunt conversations because of forum size.

Thoughts?

I rarely go to the root of the forum. Usually Quicklink> Today's post. But it doesn't bother me either.

I use the Active threads link at the top left when I've been away for a while:

Muscle and Brawn Forums - Search Results

If I'm on and surfing/working I usually monitor latest. If that was gone I would just refresh Latest posts.

I think that it may stunt the conversations myself.

Agreed, I like it how it is set up now. Makes it easy to see recent updates.
