Default I love it when......

People in their late teens/early 20s complain to me, a 37 year old, about being sore after workouts, or taking "forever" to recover.

Let's hear some of yours.

Haha.

I love it when....

people leave me alone!

People say they want similar results to mine, then ask what I do, but say they won't do that...

I love it when people with 1 year of training under their belt and no visible muscle asks me what fatburner or anabolic to use to get ripped.

As a 53 year old, I love it when 37 year old people make fun of younger people who complain about being sore after workouts, or taking "forever" to recover. Just messing with you, Melvin! Actually, as an old man it really isn't too bad - you kinda get used to it. It takes FOREVER to warm up (and, even then, you're really never warmed up to where you want to be). Also, when you stop moving, man do you really get stiff, especially at night. But, when you're working out and the sweat is going, you're are a rock star and feel 18 all over again.

I think the worst ages are 40-44. Everything starts falling apart, and you really have to adjust the workload compared to what you can do in your 30s. I think you start getting used to it after that. I am 44 now, and I think I have finally figured out what I can handle, so now I feel good going forward.

Judging by my friends at the gym, once you get to your 50s, you are just used to it, and it just takes too much energy to keep bitching about it. One guy is 55, and he spends more time on mobility after he lifts, than I spend on my whole workout. I need to start following his lead more.

I love it when I shave my beard and apparently shaved off 20 years off of my appearance. Looking like I'm barely 18 helps a ton when working as a bouncer...

I love it when people notice that I am getting bigger and yet leaner at the same time and compliment me.
I love it when new lifters tell me how much of a waste of time my fullbody routine is when their body part splits are usually a bunch of useless isolation movements. I also love it when the same people ask me what I am doing because I am making gains and then tell me that it wouldn't ever work for them.
I love it when people who wanna get in shape don't watch their nutrition. "But I go to the gym every day, why am I still...?"

I love when...
people ask if I "use protein".
Seriously, we all "use" protein. Whey is just a supplement as are all other powdered protein sources. If you aren't meeting your needs with real foods then yes a protein supplement is ideal.

There was a guy at the gym I used to go to, who once told me he had milk powder instead of "using" whey protein powder, because "guys that use whey protein look... different". Yes, seriously. As in, he thought it's only maybe one or two steps away from Satan (aka roids). True story!
