Default Crossfit Hate

https://roadtothesectionals.wordpres.../11/crosshate/

This cracks me up...

Quote:
So let me try to explain what is happening in our women. See just below the hypothalamus, in the base of the brain is a pea size gland, which stores the miracle peptide, growth hormone. While people are busy insulting mostly from the comfort of their homes, our women attack their bodies with high intensity work outs and heavy lifting that demands the body to release, this GROWTH HORMONE to compensate and repair against the brutal work placed against the body. In doing so a cascade is released which promotes protein synthesis and increase in mobilization of fatty acids from fat and in time with frequent Crossfit, proper recovery and adequate nutrition, the frames we see not only in Margaux and in Miranda but those seen by the thousands at Regionals begin to set a precedence. It is happening in every town Crossfit has breached, and it is so damn sexy!

I hate crossfit with a passion. Highly complex movements taught mainly by idiots; bumper plates sized to make the crossfitter (sp?) feel oh so special when lifting in a gym with real lifters; a 'one-size-fits-all MOD' (at least for today); the cult-like following these twits have (they never stop talking about crossfit); and the zealous nature of brand protection by their founder.

Crossfit is like golf - it allows the masses who do not possess athletic strength to feel special. Watching a crossfitter give advice in the gym is like watching a 63 year old retired physician who weighs 160lbs give advice to an athlete on the golf course. STFU! It's golf. and STFU- it's crossfit for Godsake.

Now, all the crossfit zealots will site the crossfit games as an example of athleticism. These competitors represent less than 0.5% of all crossfitters. And there's this: I've been around steroids and steroid users all my adult life. I was on for 3 years in the 80s. I'd be on today if my system didn't reject them. So I know what I see. The majority of the top competitors that you see in the games are on...male and female. To think otherwise is turning a blind eye to the obvious.

And don't kid yourself: the reason rogue, bell, wendler, juggernaut and the rest of the crowd have jump on the crossfit bandwagon is money. One thing these crossfitters have is money.

I get the lovely privilege of getting to watch Crossfitters do their thing all the time, because I train my clients at a Crossfit gym. It's REALLY HARD sometimes, watching the coaches spend tons of time trying to get people to learn pistols and Oly lifts who have no strength base and really no business doing things like that yet. Crossfit is also so limiting as far as what you do. They pretend that they do a million different things, but they eschew 90% of the traditional movements people have done in the gym for the last 100 years.

The worst part is watching the teens do it. These guys want to build muscle and get strong, but they end up doing a thousand reps with light weight and shit form. They have great GPP because of all the moving they do, but they never build any muscle and certainly never get stronger. I was talking to a couple of the younger guys about training with me in a new group training class I was trying to get going, and they were totally into it until it actually came time to start. I think they were intimidated by me and seeing me train. Everybody wanna be a bodybuilder, but don't nobody want to lift no heavy ass weight.

I was going to make a Crossfit post earlier in the week. I stopped myself from making the post because I didn't think it would go over too well. Guess I was right. Rock on, fellas.

I don't care if people want to do crossfit inside a crossfit gym

What pisses me off is that due to the high membership costs they don't stay at a crossfit gym for long.

What ultimately happens is they quit the crossfit gym and export their workouts to regular gyms.

Because of Crossfit, the squat rack in my gym has gone from being the most deserted and easily accessible piece of equipment in my gym, to a piece of equipment routinely hogged by people doing bastardized Olympic lifts with horrendous form while simultaneously hogging one or two other pieces of equipment (crossfit is a form of circuit training).

Crossfit workouts were meant for Crossfit gyms and they need to stay there.

Also irritating is the general delusional nature of its adherents as seen in the article:

Quote:
While some people argue and complain, “there are too many boxes’,” around us, with many more in the assembly line ready to begin their launch, people fail to realize these “boxes,” are at the forefront in fighting chronic diseases.
First of all, people aren't complaining about the mere existence of boxes because no one gives a shit. You're not special, you aren't important, and no one cares about you... or what you do in your little crossfit box. No one cares about what you think about health, training and nutrition except for your fellow c̶u̶l̶t̶ ̶m̶e̶m̶b̶e̶r̶s̶ crossfitters.

As for "being at the forefront of fighting chronic diseases," I mean... wow.

If that is not the height of self- important, delusional thinking, I don't know what is.

Not to mention it runs contrary to reality, a reality stated by crossfit's own founder:

Quote:
Mr. Glassman, CrossFit's founder, does not discount his regimen's risks, even to those who are in shape and take the time to warm up their bodies before a session.

"It can kill you," he said. "I've always been completely honest about that."
How do you reconcile that with "being at the forefront of fighting chronic diseases?"

Jesus. I get incensed just reading about it.

The article linked in the OP enraged me but this put a smile on my face .

It seems like we all share the same opinions about CrossShit. I'm glad Crossfit exists though, because I get to watch Elgintensity troll the shit out of it -> http://www.dailymotion.com/InfiniteElgintensity

I've seen exactly that kind of stuff in my commercial gym.

You can spot them a mile away. They ALL look like that guy. They tend to have a delusional superiority complex, wrist bands emblazoned with corporate logos and a glazed look in the eye similar to that of a brainwashed cult member.

If that sounds harsh, well name of this thread is 'crossfit hate.'

To say that I hate Crossfit and its disciples is the understatement of the century. "Hate" is actually too mild a word, but they'd have to invent a new word to accurately describe my true feelings on the subject.

ADDENDUM

No crossfit thread is complete without...
