Default A vid of my tremors - my legs

As most of you know, I posted up a vid of my tremors last month to demonstrate what an Essential Tremor looks like.

http://muscleandbrawn.com/forum/gene...y-tremors.html

I decided today I would show you what they are like in my legs. Indeed, the tremors are not limited to my arms and hands.

This is what I have to overcome when i squat.

My whole body trembles like a constant Earthquake. I am quite sure the tremors are active in almost every muscle in my body.

I have been off of a drug called Primadone now for about a week. I had to stop taking that med after experiencing a serious side effect of " Reduced sexual ability" - and that is an understatement.I was getting concerned Mrs Squatter may have to contract out that if I didn't get off the med and fast. (haha)

I am now transitioning on to a new med called Gabopentin. The jury is still out, as you can see in the vid. I am now on 9 pills a day, and the max is 12. It seems to be working somewhat, but seems to wear off fast.

And, last but not least, I have now been told to seriously consider stopping lifting, by my family Doc. Most Docs simply don't understand what makes us lifters tick.

She also is referring me to a Neurosurgeon to see if I would be a candidate for surgery. we shall see what comes of that in the coming months.

Hope this shit gets sorted ASAP. The incredible thing is, you're still so freaking strong. Which says a lot, I think.

Let's hope you can have access to surgery and fix this permanently! Keep fighting super Jim!

Cheers Sir Swede, Dray, and Thomas.

If surgery ends up being an option, I am going to go for it, unless the risk is way too high. As I get older, the tremors are quite likely to get even worse.

Good luck to you. If you don't mind my asking, what is done in the surgery? Is it a spinal issue? If you don't want to detail, no worries....just genuinely curious.
In any case, I hope that the medication works and you don't have to deal with it any longer.

you know we all shake on some lifts. If anyone says, "Dude, you're shaking!" Just say, "I'm on my 87th rep!"

It's coming from something. When you figure it out, it will be a great day. Keep searching.

I do hope everything get sorted out sooner than expected super Jim ... Hopefully that new med will do the trick. What about that massage ... isn't it effective or less effective. Doc can never understand what prompt us to lift the wts. despite injuries or something like that ... ... stay strong brother ...

Don't mind at all. In 2012, there was experimental non invasive brain surgery done with a 3 point laser that I think zaps the defective area. It was actually done in the country where I live - Canada, in Toronto. Not sure if it is still experimental or not.

There is also regular invasive surgery.

Thanks for your support!

Haha - indeed we all do, and it's good to have a great reply! The Docs don't know the root cause of ET - but they do have surgery to treat it, as explained above.
