Happy New Year

What are you guys doing for New Year? Wifey and I cook steaks on the grill, and the next day watch Bowl games until our heads explode.

The band isn't playing this year. We're going to stay in and celebrate "quietly" with the kids. It usually involves shredding up some tissue paper and letting them stay up until 1:00 local (12:00 in times square). They throw the confetti, we pick it up, send the kids to bed. Invariably, there's always some nut case on ESPN who tries to do a motorcycle jump. He's gonna kill himself someday. We'll watch that, then "go to bed."

Not sure. Either it will be quiet evening (or might go party with my brother and his group) and then New Year's day we will go to the in-laws for black-eyed peas and cabbage. Must be a Texas thing GL! ;)

I always eat black-eyed peas for new years.

It's a Southern thing. I don't fight with my Wife about it. The three basic foods are, pork roast, black eyed peas, and cabbage. You have to eat them so that you have, money, health, and something else, I forget rght now. Like I've mentioned before, I'm a Yankee, living in the South.

Technically I'm a half breed. My Mom is from Morgan City La. Thats about as far into the La. swamps as you can get.

Being half is better than none.
