Default Thank a Veteran thread 2013

I just thought it would be appropriate, with Veteran's Day 2 days away, to start a thread to thank all of the veterans we have here. So, THANK YOU to all of the veterans who are serving or have served in the past.

For those who are veterans, and would like to, give a shout out to your unit or branch of service. I will start it off and add a couple of pics as well.

Again, THANK YOU to all of the veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States.

One of these pics is my Dad, who passed away last year, while he was in the U.S.Navy, 1969-1973. The other one is me. It was taken in Haiti while I was in the U.S. Marines and, quite literally, half the man I am now, lol. Representin' for 2nd Tk Bn, 2nd MarDiv Camp Lejeune, NC. OORAH!!!!!

My father served 2 tours in Vietnam, his father in Korea, and his father in WW2. I will be the last veteran in that line.

My brother was in the U.S. Marines from 1968 until 1972. Vietnam
I was in the U.S.N. from 1973-1979.

Here is a pic of a plague on a WWII memorial for my father. He was a true American Hero:

Army National Guard and Reserves, started out as 13B-Cannon Crewmember in Rhode Island, moved to New York and into Army Aviation where I changed MOS to a15T(Blackhawk Repairer) then transitioned to 15U ( Chinook Repairer) last job was in Army Reserves as a 68W ( combat medic). Oh yeah almost forgot to add OEF vet.
