Been sitting here staring at the computer for the past couple hours. Going from site to site, reading and posting without really feeling any sort of attachment.

It is getting worse with each passing moment.

I am beginning to get a sense of how a person must feel when they have a loved one on death row and watch the clock slowly ticking off the minutes.

My best friend for the past 15 years, walks on four feet and wears a fur coat. He greats me each morning as I wake and goes from one place to another every moment through the day.

I am watching the clock slowly tick away the last 45 minutes of his life. He will be euthanized at 2:15 this afternoon. I am sick in my heart.

As I write this another 4 minutes has rapidly clicked off the clock.

I will be shutting down the computer and spending these final minutes with my friend. See everyone again tomorrow.

Rich and Steve, thank you both: I was with him till the end, holding him in my arms and petting him.

The vet upon seeing him said "It is time" and to be honest that helped. I have been afraid that I would say yes too soon and afraid that I would say yes too late allowing him to needlessly suffer.

When they tried to put the needle in his artery, the artery fell apart.

It was time.

Thanks Gaspers

Being a little emotional this week, I have not really felt like I wanted to focus on my workout schedule, the result has been hitting my main lift of the day and then just doing a few more things that I felt like doing.

Yesterday was a great example: Deadlift day. I did the 5/3/1 protocol for my deadlift with my lifting partner and then decided to follow that with some rack pulls: Things got a little out of hand.

Final results were: Added 90 pounds to the bar over my deadlift weight for the day and then held the bar for as long as possible before setting it down. I figured it would be a great grip and forearm exercise. One thing led to another and then my partner mentioned this Tabata tape that was on the shelf next to the sound system. We could not resist:

Hold 20 seconds - rest 10 seconds - repeat for a total of 8 rounds.

My grip was fried and today my upper back and traps are telling me things that should not be put in print.

Just caught this. Sounds like a crazy workout. Liking that tabata grip approach.
