Computer monitor issues
If I sound ignorant, I am. Should have taken computer courses as an elective.
Here's the skinny, I turn the HP monitor on and get a black screen that says "No VGA input/No DVI input" and the monitor puts itself to sleep.
Video cables fine, everythings plugged up and its got a surge protector. From what I've gathered it could need a new video card. This is not my computer
Another possibility, what I hope it is, that the motherboard is dusty and overheating. Could it cause that? I could unplug everything and blow it out with air, but because I'm nervous with anything post-1950 I wonder if there is any other options that don't involve taking apart someone elses computer.
Bonus points if there are any tips for not F-ing up the process, besides drawing myself a diagram of how everything is put together. Thanks for putting up with me.
