Default Spring Break fun

So this week has been spring break around here. My daughter, who is a senior this year, wanted to go to NYC for her senior/spring break trip. We let her plan the trip which became the BAMAZAV EAT YOUR WAY ACROSS NYC TOUR. For three days we went from place to place eating our meals. Here are a few recommendations if you are in NYC

Patsy's Pizza - four pieces of the lightest crust I have ever had. Wanted more.

Gaia Itallian Cafe - Houston Street. - I had lasagna. The sauce was so good, I could have eaten it alone (could easily have been the best tomato soup in the history of man). My wife and daughter had the best panini on hand made bread. We nearly went back for the rest of our meals, it was THAT good.

Cafe Cordito - Cuban. Fantastico! If you are a fan of Flan, as I am, get the coconut flan.

Dafni Taverna - 42nd Street. Was a tad pricey but good Greek food.

La Toulousaine - French Bakery on the Upper West Side, about 105 and Amsterdam. Great Palmierre

Third Rail Coffee - Daughter's favorite for the milk art in her cappucino

We walked MILES each day, had no agenda other than to eat at the various places she selected. All in all, it was a fun trip I would recommend to anyone. Looking at Philly or Boston for our next eating trip.

Sounds great Bama. Those 'no agenda' trips are the best I have found. Glad you had a good time.

Sounds like fun, I would love to go to New York for a few days. And the eating there sounds wonderful. You are making my tummy growl and now I want some of that lasagna in a bad way.

What no carts? If your still in area or come back again and like Chinese food at all , Chinatown is a must. Always a hit with us and prices arent bad.

If I had been in charge of the menu the Waffle Truck, some nuts from a cart, some cart Mediterranean food and China Town would have been on the list for sure. That said, can't recommend Gaia Italian Cafe enough.

Will have to hit Cafe Gaia next time we go to city. Had chicken and waffles at Sylvia's on my agenda last time we went to city but apparently no one else in my family had the same agenda.
